Evelyn Cools is an NYC based singer-songwriter, a non-stop traveller and discoverer of new cultures, new homes and new people.

Born in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium to globe trotting parents, Evelyn’s early years were spent in New York, Los Angeles, Bremen, Hong Kong, Budapest and Bratislava. Evelyn bought her first guitar while at college in Ithaca, NY. Influenced by Angus & Julia Stone, Bob Dylan, Lana Del Rey, Fleetwood Mac and Simon & Garfunkel, she taught herself how to play and write songs.

She moved to London to pursue a career in music and started performing at small bars and cafes in 2014. At the end of 2015, Evelyn took her music on the road with a European tour through Amsterdam, Tilburg, The Hague, Brighton, Bruges, Antwerp, Sint-Niklaas, Neuchâtel, London, Budapest and Berlin.

She released her debut EP Calming Storm on the 27th of November 2015 under the Animal Farm record label in London, and relocated to NYC in the fall of 2016 to explore its vibrant folk music scene. She has been busy writing, performing around the city, and working on material for her next EP, which she hopes to release in 2017.

My songs are reflections of my travels, the people I have met along the way, my family, and the beauty in the world that is often forgotten. I am most in awe when I am amazed by nature or when I meet someone with a beautiful soul.”   xx Evelyn
